Introducing Arlington's newest pre-school: Welcome to C Care!

Serving infants to age 5, as well as after-care through age 12!

There's a new childcare option in Arlington that you need to know about.

Filling a huge need in the area, C Care is conveniently co-located with the Dominion Arms Plaza, at 333 South Glebe Street, Arlington, VA 22204.

Here are 10 things we love about C Care!

#1: They are experienced caregivers: The proprietor and brain child of C Care is Inoka Oodugama, who has run a Montessori-style home-based child care center in South Arlington for fourteen years.  Her many reviews provide first-hand testimony of her experience, warmth, and expertise in child development.  We are thrilled that Inoka is expanding her operation to a larger space to help to accommodate Arlington's exploding demand for childcare.

#2: The new space is amazing! No basements, no tiny rooms, and no long walk to a far-off playground.  C Care has the trifecta - sunlight, size, and an on-site playground.  You will find generous space in each classroom, so that the kids can spread out and play.  Infants nap in their own private lounge, without the noise of their older (and louder) classmates to disturb them.  The ground-level facility features sun-lit rooms - there is not a dark, depressing basement to be found.  And C Care has custom built the on-site playground so that kids get plenty of outdoor playtime.

#3: They have plenty of open-ended activities: Everyone knows that kids like toys, but not all toys are created equal.  Inoka has stocked her center with developmentally appropriate toys with a STEM focus.  She has lots of manipulatives that encourage fine motor skills, creativity, problem solving, and collaboration with others.  Your kids will never be bored at C Care!

#4: They have on-site music classes: C Care offers on-site piano and violin!  For an additional charge, you can add music lessons to your child's curriculum.  This is such a huge time saver for anyone who has contemplated piano or violin lessons for their child but is unsure about finding a music teacher and hauling their kiddos to yet another activity.  Inoka's center has a violin and a full-sized upright piano on site and can build music lessons right into your kiddo's daily activity plan! Instructor Josh (below) is certified by the Royal School of Music in London to instruct in piano and violin.

#5: They have an interactive floor projectorHave you ever seen kids with one of these things?  They go nuts for it! Such a great option for a dance party, movement break, or wiggle time, especially when the weather isn't cooperating.

#6: They support a love of reading and literacy: C Care is a play-based learning center, with ample time for kids to read and explore.  Books for all levels are always available for the kids.  Plus, how adorable is this little reading nook for the tiny humans?

#7: They are not afraid to get a little messy: C Care is a "shoes-off" facility, but they are not afraid of getting dirty!  Expect lots of paint, slime, art, and sensory projects!

#8: They are putting together a foreign language program: Inoka has a personal love of foreign languages, and she is in the process of hiring a multicultural and diverse staff in order to offer language instruction to her students.  Stay tuned for more information about the addition of some of the following to the curriculum: French, Japanese, Chinese, Spanish, and Hindi.

#9: They are licensed to provide aftercare for kids ages 5-12: C Care is still rolling out the details of its after-care program, but rumor has it that it will include foreign language lessons, music classes, and STEM activities for older kids.

#10: The location is convenient to all points in Arlington: Located at Glebe and S.Third Streets, C Care has easy access to Route 50, making it a convenient option for families coming from both North and South Arlington.  The location has plenty of on-site parking and is located at ground level for easy pick up and drop off.  And bonus, it just happens to be located next to one of our favorite restaurants, Ruthie's All Day, which means you can grab a coffee and/or a breakfast sandwich in the morning to jump start your day, and put in a take-out order at pick-up, for those nights you just don't feel like cooking.
